How much money should I save up to backpack through Ireland?

Money
Chelsea M asked:

I’m from the United States and I think I want to take a semester off from school to backpack through Ireland. Where are the cheapest places I can stay? How large of a pack should I bring? How should I carry my money? I also read that I can stay for three months with just a passport, if I wanted to stay longer and possibly work there a little do I have to get a Visa, and if so how can I get one? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

John

The best way is probably putting it on your credit card and the best way is probably putting it when you get here.
